Projecting side stands, spiralshaped multi-tier access ramps and the magnificent curved roof structure over the side stands are the distinguishing architectural features of Stadium Australia which visitors notice as they arrive.
In this picture building surveyor Neville Thomson is checking the positions of the huge concrete abutments. Their anchorings were determined in 1998 using Leica Geosystems’ measuring technology.
